Nebraska Football: Program to host private work out for in-state lineman

Nebraska football always seems to be recruiting, and although they are not recruiting in this instance, they are keeping an eye on some local prospects. Nebraska football is set to work out offensive tackle Henry Rickles per a report from Bryan Munson of HuskerOnline.com. ($)

Rickles measures in at 6-foot-4, 275 pounds. The Bellevue native has offers from smaller schools such as Austin Peay, Dartmouth, and Kent State. Kansas also appears to be on his radar.

He is not ranked in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, but he is a three-star recruit with an 80 overall raking in the 247Sports Non-Composite rankings. Per those rankings, he is the ninth overall player in the 2022 class from the state of Nebraska.

What could he bring to Nebraska football?

When I watch his film, I see a very capable lineman. He excels in both run and pass-blocking. It was extremely noticeable in his film that he was able to get the upper hand on his man rather easily.

In terms of pass blocking, he established his dominance immediately. As soon as the ball is snapped, he extended his hands and was able to push his matchup backward. This would be very helpful for Nebraska football. Especially given that Nebraska wants to recruit running quarterbacks, that immediate dominance on the line would be a tremendous asset.

On run blocks, he was able to create holes immediately and used his strengths to completely dominate his man. That allowed for holes to open quickly, and this is something that could help Nebraska football as well. With how well Nebraska football recruits the running back position, Nebraska is going to need those types of lineman in order to compete. Rickles certainly would be a tremendous asset to their running game, and give them a chance to really make that their calling card.

Currently, the Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 65th overall nationally and 13th overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

At the moment from Rickles would certainly help the class increase in ranking. He would also give the program a bit of a boost in-state. Nebraska football has done well at recruiting in-state over the past couple of classes, and they need to continue that momentum.

We will have to see what the consensus is from the private workout. I personally think that Nebraska could have a decent shot at landing him. Nebraska has had success in recruiting the offensive line. However, as we have learned in recruiting, nothing is a given
