Nebraska football made the cut for 2022 three-star dual-threat quarterback Connor Harrell. He has trimmed his list to ten schools, and Nebraska was one of the ten.
Harrell is the 13th overall dual-threat quarterback in his class, and the 24th overall player in his class from the state of Alabama in the 247SportsComposite Rankings. He has an 87 rating and is the ninth overall dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Non-Composite Rankings.
Right now, he has several schools that are interested in him. Duke, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt are the top three schools on his list right now. They have all extended offers to him. He is set to take an official visit to Northwestern on June 12.
Harrell would fit the Nebraska football offense perfectly. He is a dual-threat quarterback, which is exactly what the program has been looking for as of late. He is very mobile in the pocket, and is able to move around in it to avoid pressure. He has great field vision, and is able to keep his eye on his receiver even when scrambling out the pocket. The ability to make throws on the run is one of his greatest strengths.
One of the things that really caught my eye about him in particular is that he has a strong arm. This has been a fault of Nebraska football quarterbacks over the past years. Many of them seem to lack arm strength. They have the wheels, but not the touch.
What could he bring to Nebraska Football?
Nebraska football has seemed to make it a point to recruit at least one dual-threat quarterback every class. This is a smart strategy as it keeps the quarterback room stocked. This also allows for the program to be able to develop each quarterback, and gives the coaches more time to work with them. Developing quarterbacks is not something that Nebraska football has done well. They need to make sure they do that in the next couple of classes.
Harrell would certainly be able to help out the Nebraska football program immensely. The fact that they made it in his top 10 rankings is certainly encouraging. Now, Nebraska needs to make sure that they are able to seal the deal . They have had luck recruiting quarterbacks. Now, they need to make sure they can keep a positional pipeline flowing. Harrell would certainly be a quarterback that would fit their style of play, and allow them to continue running the same offense.
