Nebraska Football: Legacy QB Dylan Raiola still thinks highly of Huskers

If you’ve been following the Nebraska football camps closely, then you may have heard that quarterback Dylan Raiola put on a show Friday. The son of former Nebraska center, Dominic Raiola, the quarterback still has Nebraska very much on his list.

The Burleson, Texas native is not ranked in the 247Sports Composite or regular rankings. However, he doesn’t need to be. His stock has soared in the last couple of days, and the 2024 gun-slinger has offers from the likes of Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, Missouri, and the Huskers. Most recently, he received an offer from Missouri on Monday.

Looking at his highlights, he can throw both inside and outside the pocket. He also can throw on the run, and make accurate throws. A cannon arm is definitely one of his stronger traits. Raiola also throws the ball quickly. He is very decisive with his reads, and he is able to evade oncoming defenders.

Speaking from a non-analyst standpoint, he has everything I want in a quarterback. The fact that he is a Nebraska football legacy also helps the Huskers chances at landing him. It is not to be easy though, he has had good performances at the last couple of camps that he has been to. I only expect his stock to continue to grow.

In speaking with the Journal Star this week, his father talked about where Nebraska football lands on his son’s list of schools. Right now, it sounds like the school’s in a good place to land him.

“It sounds like it’s getting back to what it was in some capacity,” Raiola said. “I love that about it. I know (Dylan) is going to be well-taken care of there. There are so many people who are still around. Joni Duff (an administrative assistant) is still there. Then, across the state of Nebraska, you go there and you’re instantly like an adopted son.

“Man, I told my wife it’s going to be hard for him not to go there. Shoot, that’d be awesome. We would love to see him go there. But ultimately, it’s his choice, and he’s going to do a great job of navigating through this process.”

Try not to get too excited about him. There are going to be schools after schools that extend an offer to him. Especially if he performs the way he did at Nebraska’s camp on Friday night, offers will continue to increase. In that respect, recruiting is really like the Wild West.
