As Nebraska football inches closer to the start of preseason training camp, some players are working their way back from injury. One of those players is tight end Thomas Fidone.
As you may recall, he suffered an ACL injury during the spring. Now, it’s all about working his way back to the explosive player he is known to be. in a video posted on Monday, it seemed as though he is making a rather quick recovery from this injury.
Fidone is the future
Fidone figures to be the tight end of the future for Nebraska football, and he could contribute in some capacity later this year. All reports have indicated that he is expected to be back towards the end of the season. That could be big for Nebraska football, depending on where they are in the standings. Perhaps more importantly for Scott Frost in the coaching staff, whether they are in line for a bowl game could loom larger than wherever they sit in the standings
In the video, it looks like he has good form, and still has a lot of strength in his legs. Obviously, we will be able to tell a little bit more once he is running on the field again and taking part in drills. However, this is certainly a good sight to see, and it’s a good start for a key piece of Nebraska’s future.
I’ll be intrigued to see exactly what his status is at the end of the season. Hopefully, he will be able to suit up and help the Nebraska football program. On that same token, I do not want them to rush him. If he is still not ready for game action, getting him healthy is more important than risking them for the last few games of the season. Even if Nebraska football is in a standings battle, I would not want him out there if he is not ready to go.
As for right now, is just working his way
