Nebraska Basketball: Four-star Ramel Lloyd huge get for program

Nebraska basketball was able to land a big commitment on Sunday, as  Ramel Lloyd committed to the program. A member of the 2022 class, he is a four-star recruit. He is the 24th overall small forward in his class, and the 11th overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as a point guard.

In addition to Nebraska, Arkansas, Georgetown, Oregon, and Arizona State also extended him an offer.

Measuring in at 6-foot-6, 190 pounds, Lloyd has a little bit of everything to his game. When I watched his highlights, he was able to drive to the hoop as well as shoot contested shots. He is not just a player who can shoot tough shots however. He is able to also put together a solid mid-range game. In that regard, Nebraska basketball was able to land a complete player in Lloyd.

He fits the Nebraska basketball offense well. He is certainly a high-octane  player who is able to get downhill and can get in transition easily. This allows him to be able to take advantage of his defender close to the basket, and finish with ease.

The 2022 Nebraska basketball recruiting class got a huge boost with this commitment. This gives them the second commitment in the 2022 class, and should be able to make the class soar in the recruiting rankings.

This commitment also shows how hard head coach Fred Hoiberg and assistant coach Matt Abdelmassih have been recruiting for future classes, and how hard they recruit in general. This makes the 11th four or five- star commitment that the pair have landed since they have been in Lincoln. They are setting things up nicely for the future, and I would expect the good momentum to keep rolling.

Lloyd is certainly a talented basketball player, and one that Nebraska basketball is going to be able to build around. I’m excited to see who Nebraska basketball gets to commit next. They have done very well on the recruiting trail, and it will pay off in wins sooner rather than later.

Who will they land next? It’s always a pleasant surprise.
