As we turn our focus to Michigan State, Nebraska football opens the week as slight underdogs. According to oddsmakers, they are 3.5- point underdogs against the Spartans,
Nebraska is coming off a difficult defeat against Oklahoma. Despite the defeat, they showed promise against a tough Sooner team. In the meantime, Michigan State is coming off a victory on the road against Miami.
This could be a big game for Nebraska football. For one, Michigan State is ranked 20th in the AP Poll. A win over the Spartans could put them in a good position to get into the poll throughout the course of the season. Obviously, it will not hinge on just this game, but Nebraska football will have the opportunity to do so.
Michigan State is not going to be an easy test. They have several playmakers on both sides of the football, and that should make for a difficult game for Nebraska.
If Nebraska can play like they did against Oklahoma on Saturday, they certainly have a shot at winning this game. The team has made improvements even throughout the course of this season, and they showed it on Saturday. Now, can they show it next Saturday against the Spartans? That remains to be seen. However, I feel much more confident about Nebraska’s chances of winning this game than I did even just a week ago.
It will be intriguing to see what Nebraska will be able to do. Under the lights, that will make this game even more exciting.
