This announcement is related to the injury he suffered against Michigan in the second half back on December 7.
He averaged 3.7 points per game on the year to go along with 2.8 rebounds. He received a fair amount of playing time this year. playing in 10 games and averaging 15.7 minutes per contest. He did get a chance to see what college basketball was like. I believe that is important for his development moving forward.
Statistically, his best game came against Idaho State back in November. In 15 minutes of play, he went three-of-six from the field and one-of-two from the free-throw line. He tallied nine points in total.
Development will be key
He was an interesting player for me. I liked what he brought to the table in terms of his size and his finish at times around the rim. However, he is still a very raw player. There were times where he looked completely lost on the court last season. Obviously, he is a freshman. That is a little bit expected. What I’m hoping for is that next season, we will begin to see his game fill out.
Breidenbach is a shooter. That’s what his game is. I’m hoping we can see more of that next year. There is no doubt that he is talented. I’m not trying to say is not. He just looked like a freshman at times last year, and I expect that he will improve as his career goes on. I would love to see a more complete player for Nebraska next year.
Hopefully, he can get this leg injury healed. I’m hoping this is just a bump in the road, and not something that is going to linger for the rest of his career. Breidenbach has a bright future, and the only thing slowing them down right now is the injuries.
