Just because the Nebraska football Junior Day is over does not mean that there will be a lack of visitors this weekend. According to a report from Brian Christopherson of 247Sports, one of the players Nebraska will be hosting is running back Quinten Joyner.
Joyner is the 12th overall running back in the 2023 class, and the 35th overall player in his class from the state of Texas per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is a member of the class of 2023.
He has some impressive offers on the table. Cincinnati, Houston, and Indiana have all extended offers his way. Joyner played football for Manor High School last year, carrying the ball 223 times for 2,494 yards, and 31 touchdowns.
What could he bring to Nebraska football? Measuring in at five-foot-10, 190 pounds, Joyner has excellent vision and speed. As soon as he hits the hole, he makes things happen in the open field. There is not a lot of hesitation in his game , and he has the ability to be an explosive player. This is becoming a trend that we are seeing with the Nebraska football running backs. Everybody the program has brought in has that same type of explosive playmaking ability.
Brian Applewhite has certainly been busy in trying to remodel the running back position. Getting a guy like Joyner on campus could be crucial. The program has made a point of getting running backs on campus, and they have been able to land some, such as Anthony Grant.
Joyner will be a name that I will be watching closely over the course of his recruitment. Nebraska football may not end up landing him, but it is encouraging they are bringing talented athletes to campus. You can really sense that the program is trying to shift gears and get as many talented athletes as possible into the fold.
