Nebraska Football: Playmaking wide receiver to visit Lincoln Wednesday

Nebraska football is going to have a recruiting visit on Wednesday, as 2023 three-star wide receiver Jaidyn Doss will be visiting the program. He made the announcement via his Twitter on Saturday.

Doss is the 54th overall wide receiver in his class, and the 11th overall player from the state of Missouri per the 247Sports composite rankings. He has offers from the likes of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State.

Measuring in at 6 feet, 195 pounds,  the Peculiar, Mo. native plays mostly on the outside. He is adept at slant routes, and  makes things happen after the catch. As soon as the ball enters his hands, he uses his speed to be able gain extra yards and make defenders miss. Although he can make possession catches, he is a run-after-the-catch receiver.  He does his best work when given space in the open field.

The future of Nebraska football

Currently, the 2023 Nebraska football recruiting class has five commitments in it. The class itself ranks 17th nationally and sixth in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Composite Rankings . The 2023 recruiting class has one wide receiver in the group in three-star pass-catcher Benjamin Brahmer. Beyond that, Nebraska football does not have any wide receivers in this class.

Doss’ visit on Wednesday reaffirms the fact that Nebraska football is looking for wide receivers in future classes. Receiver has been a target position for Nebraska football in recruiting, and they seem to be doing their homework when looking at other wide receiver prospects. In particular, receivers that can get down the field and make things happen after the catch seem to be something they are looking for.

Nebraska football has had solid momentum for the 2023 class. With new wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph in town, the position itself has gotten a boost. As Nebraska continues to recruit for future classes, depth in addition to landing impact playmakers are two of the programs biggest priorities.
