With the transfer portal deadline approaching, Nebraska football is continuing to look in the portal for help on the defensive line. former Florida four-star defensive lineman Lamar Goods is set for a visit with Nebraska.
Given that deadline is approaching, I would expect the visit to be around this weekend.
As a recruit, Goods was the 36th overall defensive tackle in the 2020 class, and the fourth overall player in his class from the state of Connecticut per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He officially committed to Florida on June 21, 2019. He entered the transfer portal on April 11.
Nebraska football would be wise to look at Goods
He has one total tackle in two games played. Although he did not get a ton of playing time at Florida, he would immediately help the Nebraska football defensive line. That is a position that the program desperately needs depth. Measuring in at six-foot-two, 332 pounds, he would give Nebraska football a player that would fill space and bring versatility to the line.
I understand that the statistics portion of his career may not excite you. However, he would be able to play at Nebraska right away and he would get a fresh start. More so than just a first start, he would provide experience to a position that desperately needs some.
Nebraska football has overhauled the roster, and a lot of it is based off of transfers in the 2022 class. with 11 transfers in total in the class, Nebraska football has managed to overhaul the program quite a bit.
Goods would certainly allow for the Huskers’ to strengthen their defensive line. His skill is something that the position needs as they look to solidify that part of the position. A decision should come soon, and hopefully it works in the Huskers’ favor as they look to add depth and impact players.
