This was a sizable recruiting weekend for Nebraska football, as several names went to Lincoln to visit the campus. One of those names was wide receiver Jaidyn Doss.
The 2023 wide receiver is a three-star recruit. He is the 53rd overall wide receiver in his class, and the 12th overall player in this class from the state of Missouri per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. In addition to Nebraska, he also has offers from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas and Oregon. On the Nebraska front, he is being recruited by Bill Busch.
As far as Doss’ interest in Nebraska is concerned, the Huskers are reportedly high on his list. Obviously, a lot of teams are probably high up on his list during the recruiting process. However, Nebraska has recruited Missouri very hard, and I think that could work in their favor here.
Busch has been able to check up on Doss and other recruits over the course of the past couple months. That could have also played a role in Nebraska being in a good position for Doss.
As far as what Doss brings to the table, he would give Nebraska a deep threat on the outside. He is very good at catching the ball and running after the catch. In addition to that, he uses his speed to get open on deeper routes. This allows him to be a big-time playmaker down the field.
In addition to being able to receive the football, Nebraska has been recruiting him as a receiver and has also talked with him about returning punts and kicks according to a report from 247Sports’ Allen Trieu.
Nebraska has recruited these types of receivers heavily over the past couple of months. It would make sense that they are looking at a receiver with his skill set. The type of playmaking that he brings to the table is something that they are looking for. In addition to his playmaking ability, his ability to be a versatile kick and five returner is something that Nebraska has been looking for recently.
At the very least, Nebraska football is on Doss’ radar. That certainly counts for something.
