Nebraska football was able to land a commitment from 2023 wide receiver Jaidyn Doss on Friday evening. He made the announcement via his Twitter account.
Doss was a sought-after Nebraska target. He was a three-star recruit, and the 12th overall player in his class from the state of Missouri per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
In addition to Nebraska, he had interest from the likes of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, and Kansas. Bill Busch was his primary recruiter, while Mickey Joseph served as his secondary recruiter.
Both Busch and Joseph have been recruiting the Missouri area hard, and landing Doss is a testament to that. Prior to this visit, he visited the Nebraska football program on May 20, and also visited back in January.
What can he bring to Nebraska Football?
Measuring in at 6 feet, 195 pounds, the wide receiver should fit in with what Nebraska football is trying to do offensively. He is a strong route-runner, as well as someone that can make things happen after the catch. He functions well on the outside, and provides an offense with a deep-threat playmaker. One thing that is a common denominator with him is speed. Whether it is running after the catch, or providing a deep threat, he has the speed to make things happen and get the ball down the field
He is the type of wide receiver that Mickey Joseph has been looking to add to the program. Joseph has already managed to land a couple of big-time playmakers during his time here. Doss is another one. The wide receiver should strengthen the depth positionally, and give the Huskers somebody that will allow them to go toe-to-toe with the rest of the Big Ten offensively.
With this commitment, the 2023 Nebraska football recruiting class now has six commitments and is ranked 32nd overall in the country per the 247Sports Team Rankings. Doss is their highest-rated commitment in the class.
In what is going to be a big visit weekend with many high-profile prospects, this commitment certainly gives Nebraska football a head start to the weekend.
