Moore is a three-star prospect and was the ninth overall player in his class from the state of Colorado per the 247 sports composite rankings. He had offers from the likes of Iowa State, Colorado, Michigan, Texas Tech and UCLA. He was recruited to Nebraska by inside linebackers coach Barrett Ruud.
Moore will bring an immediate impact on the defensive side of the football for the 2023 recruiting class. He tallied 111 tackles and five sacks last season for Regis Jesuit High School. He is exactly the type of linebacker that Nebraska football looks for. Two of his strongest qualities are his initial burst, and closing speed. As soon as an offensive play develops, he identifies the ball carrier and that allows him to come up and make a play. He stays firm in his stance and then shoots towards the ball carrier.
That type of athleticism will fit well in the Nebraska football defense. In addition to his speed, he is a solid tackler. He is somebody that can wreak havoc at the line of scrimmage. That is something that Nebraska football is going to need a lot of moving forward.
Gone are the days where linebackers are lumbering and slow. Today’s linebackers need to be versatile and fast. He checks all of those boxes. Not only is Nebraska football getting an impact player, they are also getting one that fits today’s game very well.
The Nebraska football 2023 recruiting class has been on a roll in the month of June. They now have nine commitments in the class. They have five commitments in the month of June as well. This has been a solid month for the program, and it has been a strong one for the 2023 recruiting class.
I’ll be interested to see how the program fills out the rest of the class. Moore is another big-time get and a player that could be a staple on this defense.
