Nebraska Football added to the 2023 class on Saturday, as wide receiver Barry Jackson committed to the program.
Jackson is a three-star recruit. He is the 147th overall wide receiver in his class, and the 102nd overall player in his class from the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is definitely a diamond in the rough type of player.
He took a visit to Nebraska on June 3, in what was a big recruiting weekend for the program. He was recruited to the program by Mickey Joseph.
What can he bring to Nebraska football?
Jackson brings immediate speed to the program. In watching his highlights, speed is definitely a huge asset for the wide receiver. He is able to make things happen after the catch. As soon as he gets the football, he turns upfield quickly, and that allows him to find more open field.
I could see him easily being an asset to the Nebraska football quarterbacks. His play style is going to allow them to be able to make their reads and give him the football. He is one of those wide receivers that will allow the quarterbacks the ability to make a safe throw and have it go for big yardage.
This has been a really impressive recruiting month for Nebraska football. The 2023 class is shaping up nicely. The class itself ranks 36th nationally, with 11 commitments overall.
I am really excited for this commitment. Nebraska football now has a diverse set of skills at the wide receiver position. They have wide receivers that can stretch the field and make the big plays. Adding a guy like Jackson allows them to have a weapon that can run shorter routes and get the same production.
Mickey Joseph is making his presence felt in the wide receiver room. He continues to load up on talent as the days and weeks go by.
