Nebraska Football: Turner Corcoran back at practice is big boost

Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost revealed a ton of information in regards to health of his players. One player who received a very positive update was Turner Corcoran.

He has been back practicing with the team over the last couple of days, after missing a couple of practices. This is certainly important for the Nebraska football offensive line, given that he is in line to be the starting right tackle.

He has dealt with injuries before, as an injury during fall camp last season nagged him throughout the 2021 campaign. Nevertheless, he started 11 games and showed promise.  The Huskers are going to need him to be a force on the line . The line itself needs to rebound from what was a dismal 2021 season, one in which they regressed quite a bit.

Corcoran should be able to be a big part of that. He needs to be a big piece quite frankly, as Nebraska needs stability from that unit. in my opinion, he is the biggest piece of the line, just due to his experience from last season and his potential for the future. A strong season from him would give Nebraska football that cornerstone piece that they have been missing for the past couple seasons.

We also two weeks out from game day. Having Corcoran back allows him to get some reps in time for Northwestern. it allows him to get in the right mindset and prepares him what is sure to be an aggressive Northwestern defense.

The fact that he is healthy and back at practice is an encouraging sign. Nebraska football will hold one more scrimmage on Monday per Luke Mullin of the Lincoln Journal-Star.  This should give the team one final tuneup before the opener.

The offensive line has been dismal the past couple of years. A player like Corcoran be instrumental in turning around. The fact that he is back gives reassurance to a positional group that hasn’t had much of it over the past couple of seasons.
