Nebraska football will have a visitor on Saturday, as former Texas A&M defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy will be visiting Nebraska this Saturday per Mike Schaefer of 247Sports.
Jeudy redshirted the 2021 season but did play in a game against Prairie View. He was a highly regarded recruit in high school, and was a four-star prospect per247Sports. Jeudy went to Northeast High school and hails from Philadelphia Pa.
He had tremendous success at the high school level. He had 68 total tackles and six sacks in three years of recorded statistics per Maxpreps.com.
Jeudy was a highly sought-after prospect out of high school. He had 27 offers in total, and that included the likes of Alabama, Georgia, and Oregon. He was part of the famed 2021 Texas A&M recruiting class that ranked ninth in the country.
Nebraska football needs depth on defensive line
Nebraska could certainly use players at the defensive line position. Defensive lineman Marquis Black entered the transfer portal on Monday, with Monday being the first day players could do so.
The fact that Jeudy is taking a visit to Lincoln this weekend is encouraging for a couple of reasons. For one, Nebraska needs depth on the defensive line. Secondly, Nebraska football has identified a position they need to get better at, and they are already trying to get an impact player for the 2023 transfer class. Having a SEC-caliber player in the program certainly could bolster the depth for Nebraska football.
Nebraska football currently does not have any transfers in their 2023 class. There could be an uptick, as the new coaching staff looks to bring players into the program under Matt Rhule. The defensive line needs to be rebuilt, and Jeudy could be a player that helps with the process.
