Nebraska football has been busy on the recruiting trail as of late, and more recruiting predictions are swinging in their favor. Nebraska got three new predictions for Westside kicker Tristan Alvano.
Michael Bruntz and Brian Christopherson of Husker247 put in medium confidence predictions. Parker Thune of OUInsider put in a high confidence prediction with a score of seven.
Alvano has been on Nebraska’s radar for a couple of weeks now. He received an offer from Nebraska on December 7, and he took an official visit on December 9. He also received an offer from Boston College in between his contact with Nebraska.
Alvano went 16-of-20 on field goals and made all 70 of his extra points, per statistics from Kohl’s Kicking Camps. He was able to get more of a national spotlight when performed at a high level for Omaha Westside during the Class A Championship Game. The kicker showed off his leg in the process. He made all five of his field goals, including a 45-yard kick.
Alvano received an offer from interim head coach Mickey Joseph the morning after the game.
Currently, the 2023 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 61st overall. This could be a big weekend for the class, as more commitments are expected to come in. Matt Rhule and the new Nebraska football coaching staff have had five additions to the class since they came to Lincoln. They are putting their stamp on this class. On top of this, they are trying to keep as much talent in-state as possible.
A commitment from Alvano would give Nebraska football a solid kicker for several years. So far, it seems like things are trending in Nebraska’s direction. On top of this, he would give the program another solid in-state commitment. It will be interesting to see if Nebraska can land this commitment, as they continue to build out this class.
