Authorities declared that Mint Butterfield, a youngster who vanished last Monday, has been located safely in San Francisco. According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Mint, the 16-year-old daughter of Flickr founder Caterina Fake and Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield, was located on Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. local time.
According to the sheriff’s office, Mint had a friendship with an adult acquaintance named Christopher Kio Dizefalo, a 26-year-old San Francisco resident. Mint and Dizefalo were discovered together in San Francisco, where police discovered a white van connected to Dizefalo.
Thankfully, Mint turned out to be unharmed, and the authorities verified that Mint had fled her house on her own volition. Dizefalo was taken into the Marin County Jail and placed under arrest for several criminal offenses after speaking with MCSO officers. A $50,000 bond was set for him. Since then, their family has reclaimed custody of Mint.
According to Fake’s missing report from last Thursday, Mint was last seen at their Bolinas, California, home on Monday at around 10 p.m. The following morning, Fake found Mint missing from the house and read a message indicating that Mint had departed either late at night or early in the morning with a suitcase.
Fake claimed that Mint and they share a San Francisco residence, raising the possibility that Mint may have gone to the Tenderloin District even though it’s still unknown how Mint left the area without having access to a car or phone.
