Tragic Hit-and-Run Leaves 16 Family Members Injured, 2 Dead in Michigan

Two people were killed and the remaining family members were hospitalized in Watertown Township, Michigan, after a car struck a group of sixteen people. The tragedy of this already terrible hit-and-run is exacerbated by the authorities’ suspicion that the motorist may have been inebriated.

On a Saturday night, around 12 miles northwest of Lansing’s downtown, the incident took place. The man from Grand Haven, age 30, and the man from Grand Ledge, age 42, died instantly when the car hit the victims, who ranged in age from 2 to 61. Fourteen others were hurt and taken right away to hospitals in the area for emergency medical attention.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office has released the victims’ ages, but as of Monday morning, their identities remained undisclosed. Two-year-old twins, kids ages 3, 6, 7, and 8, adults ages 16, 27, 28, 32, 33, 38, and 61, and youngsters ages 3, 6, 6, 7, and 8 are among the injured.

Eight family members had been released from the hospital as of Sunday night, while six were still in the hospital, according to updates from the sheriff’s office.

The driver left the scene of the tragic occurrence, but he was later found several miles away. The driver’s identity is still unknown, although sources indicate that a Gratiot County woman, 35, is being held at the Clinton County Jail in connection with the hit-and-run. According to investigations, alcohol might have contributed to the collision.

Many people have expressed their condolences and offered prayers for the affected family on social media platforms in response to the heartbreaking news.

The family was returning from a trip along the neighboring Looking Glass River when the awful tragedy happened, according to a spokeswoman of Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, even though law enforcement has not released any information regarding the family’s history or origin.
