Bonita Springs Ticket Wins $1 Million in Florida Lottery Drawing

On Tuesday night, a lucky lottery ticket sold in Bonita Springs made someone a millionaire.

A $1 million second-tier reward was won by a ticket bought at a 7-Eleven located at 24651 S. Tamiami Trail, even while the $306 million Mega Millions jackpot was rolling over.

Despite having 1 in 12,607,306 odds of winning, the ticket was able to match the winning numbers—26, 28, 36, 63, and 66—with the exception of the Megaball, which was 15.

Either the Florida Lottery headquarters office in Tallahassee or the district office in Fort Myers will accept prize claims from the fortunate winner.

The next Mega Millions drawing is set for Friday at 11 p.m. with an estimated $331 million jackpot. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.

The Florida Lottery provides some advice for people who are fortunate enough to win:

  • Sign your ticket
  • Keep your ticket safe
  • Claim your prize before it expires (usually within 180 days)
  • Validate your ticket using a self-check scanner at any retailer

There are 46 lottery jurisdictions that offer the multi-state jackpot game Mega Millions, including Florida. The prize pool grows from $20 million to $50 million if all six numbers are matched.

Lower-tier rewards start at $2 and go up to $1 million, with the Megaplier bringing the total to $5 million. The Megaplier costs an extra $1 on top of the $2 cost of tickets. There is a 1 in 24 chance of winning any prize.
